Noninvasive evaluation of DR neovascularization using UWF full range SS-OCTA!
Study recently published in <Retina> compare the efficacy of detecting diabetic retinal neovascularization (NV) by using UWF full range SS-OCTA with UWF color fundus photography (UWF-CFP) and UWF fluorescein angiography (UWF-FA).
90 eyes were included in this cross-sectional study. The results demonstrated high sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of UWF SS-OCTA in NV detection and excellent agreement between UWF-OCTA and UWF-FA. UWF-OCTA, combining with UWF-CFP, might panoramically improve NV detection, serving as a reliable, noninvasive alternative to FA for diabetic retinopathy evaluation.
A 400kHz speed swept source OCTA BMizar TowardPi  was used in this study for high-resolution UWF imaging the details of neovascularization. Numerous quantifications, including vessel density, non-perfusion area, FAZ parameters, are available on device for quantitative evaluation and high-efficient management of DR.
